It has enough perfume oil to last through a working day, with a rich trail (called sillage ) that people notice – without being as heavy or expensive as a pure parfum. What is Eau de Toilette (EDT)? EDT is lighter and fresher. It is pleasant for a few hours but usually needs re-applying, which means the bottle finishes faster. Perfume vs deodorant / body spray A deodorant’s main job is to control body odour; its fragrance is light and short-lived. A body mist is mostly alcohol and water. Neither is designed to give the long-lasting, layered scent of a real perfume. Which one gives the best value? Price per bottle can be misleading. Because an EDP needs fewer sprays and fewer top-ups, it often costs less per day of wear than a cheaper body spray that you re-apply three or four times. How to read the label Look for the words “Eau de Parfum” or “EDP” on the bottle or box. Check the volume (for example 50 ml ) and the MRP to compare value.
